Dress Code

Powers Catholic does not have a uniform but we do have an expectation that what students wear to school is distinguishable from what they might wear for “play”.  Student attire is always to be neat and modest.  The school administration reserves the right to determine the suitability of clothing, makeup or excessive accessorizing for school and school activities.

Young men are asked to wear: full length dress slacks, docker-style, or cargo pants; a dress shirt, polo shirt with a collar, crew neck or v-neck sweater; and shoes.  Hair is to be neat, clean, and combed.  Men are to be clean shaven.
Young women are asked to wear dress slacks, capris pants, docker-style, or cargo pants; a dress blouse, polo shirt with a collar, turtle neck shirt, or sweater; dresses or skirts with a hem line at least down to the fingertip of the extended arm; and shoes.  Hair is to be neat, clean, and combed.  Neck lines must be modest and the school reserves the right to establish whether or not a student’s clothing is modest.

Students may wear: Powers fleece or sweatshirts in school colors (blue & orange), white or grey.

Students may not wear: T-shirts, sweatshirts, undershirts, sleeveless tops, jeans, torn or unhemmed clothing, sweat pants, overly tight or baggy clothing, hats, head scarves,  flip-flops, sport sandals, or any other item or style of clothing that may be announced at school as not appropriate.  Exposed midriff or underwear is not acceptable.

During the first and fourth quarters students may wear dress or cargo style shorts with a minimum of a 5” inseam. Sandals are allowed - not flip flops or sport sandals.  On dress up days (Mass and Honors Convocation) students are not to wear shorts to school.  They may change into shorts after the assembly.
