Memo to Parents of 9th, 10th, and 12th Grade Students
RE: 2012 MME Dates and Protocol for Students
Dear Parents,
As many of you know, the Michigan Merit Exam is a statewide test for juniors in high school. The testing window for the MME is from Tuesday, March 6, 2012 through Thursday, March 8, 2012. For the past twelve years, ever since we started taking the tests for Michigan high school students, we have been the highest achieving school in Genesee County. We believe that we have a testing protocol that works well for our students. Included in that protocol, is the necessity to have a quiet building that provides the optimal testing conditions. With that said, 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students will not attend school on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in order that our juniors may take the ACT test. Because the ACT is a lengthy and rigorous exam, there will be no regular school on that day. On Wednesday, March 7, the juniors will be taking the ACT Workkeys exam and on Thursday, March 8, the Michigan components of the MME. These exams will last until 11:20 and school will begin on that day at 11:30 for all students. Busses will run on their regular schedule on Wednesday, March 7 and Thursday, March 8, 2012. All students who ride the bus will be allowed in the building, but must remain in the commons area.

SPRING TRIP TO ITALY
If you are going on the trip to Italy, you and your parent/s must attend a meeting on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the library.
BASEBALL NEWS
Powers Catholic HS is looking for baseball staff members this spring. We need an interim JV baseball coach and a freshman baseball coach. Interested persons should call the school or e-mail Mike Pruchnicki or Tom Dutkowski at

ASH WEDNESDAY
We will celebrate Mass on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd at 10:30 a.m. in the gym. All are welcome.
PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKEND
No school on Friday, February 17th and Monday, February 20th.
