SCRIP General Information
Welcome to the Powers Catholic High School SCRIP Program. The Easiest way to earn tuition credits for a current student or a future student!
SCRIP Orders: SCRIP Certificates may be ordered on a weekly basis. Simply drop off your completed order form Monday through Friday (between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.) in the Powers Business Office. Please note that an order submitted before 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday will be available for pick up in the Business Office after noon on Friday of the same week. Please Note: IF THE BUSINESS OFFICE IS CLOSED, SCRIP WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP, IF SCHOOL IS CANCELLED, SCRIP WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP. Business Office Summer Hours are Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students may pick up their family's SCRIP order at the Powers Business Office. They will be required to sign for their certificates when they pick them up. For your added convenience, you may mail your orders to the Powers Business Office. Please use the address below. (Please do not send in your vinyl envelope if you mail your order) Orders mailed in must be picked up in person at the Powers Business Office. SCRIP Method of Payment: Payment must accompany your order. Please make checks payable to Powers Catholic High School. Either checks, cash or credit card (Visa or Mastercard) are acceptable. Please see attached Credit Card General Information Sheet for the procedure to use your credit card when ordering. There is a $35.00 penalty fee for "insufficient fund" checks. Cost of SCRIP Certificates: SCRIP Certificates are purchased at a face value. For Example, a $25.00 VG's certificate would cost you $25.00 and is fully redeemable at all VG's stores for that amount. Once the SCRIP Certificates are purchased, they may not be returned to Powers for a refund. Tuition Payment Credits: Fifty percent (50%) of the profit you earn through the purchase of SCRIP certificates will be credited towards your student's tuition at Powers. The remaining 50% will be used to fund school programs. For example, Italia Gardens certificates have a 20% profit returned to the school. Accordingly you would earn 50% of that percentage towards your student's tuition. Therefore, a purchase of $100.00 worth of Italia Gardens certificates would earn you a $10.00 tuition credit. Participating individuals or families that do not have students at Powers may donate their earnings to other student's tuition accounts. Or, they may donate their earnings directly to Powers Catholic High School. Parents with children who are future Powers students may establish pre-enrollment accounts. Tuition credits in these accounts will accumulate until the future student is enrolled at Powers. The credits will then be applied towards the new student's tuition at that time. Earnings may not be redeemed for cash. Earnings not designated for a current or future student will be donated to the Powers High School general fund. When Tuition Credits are Given: Tuition credits will be awarded in December, April and June and will be applied towards your student's February, May and August tuition payments. Accounts for future students will continue to earn tuition credits until the student becomes enrolled at Powers. You will be notified by the SCRIP committee as to the amount of your tuition credit. SCRIP Program Enrollment Kits: Enrollment kits for the Powers SCRIP program may be picked up in the Powers Business Office. Each kit includes a General Information Sheet, a Family Enrollment Form, and an order form with a current list of participating merchants. The enrollment form must be turned in with your first order. SCRIP Program Updates: The number of participating merchants in the SCRIP program is constantly changing. Also, the "percentage of profit" offered by each merchant is subject to change. As such, we will try to keep you informed of these changes via email. For that reason, it is imperative that if at all possible, you include your email address on your enrollment form. Any change in the status of a merchant's participation or profit percentage will not alter previously earned tuition credits. On occasion, merchants will have special promotions and increase their "profit percentages" for a short period of time. We make every effort to alert you of these "specials" via email. We purchase the majority of our certificates from the Great Lakes SCRIP Center in Grand Rapids. You can get the latest merchant information from their website at www.glscrip.com.
